Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
My return tease is from Caleb’s Crossing by Geraldine Brooks:
“Slowly at first, my limbs found the rhythm. Though ceased, and an animal sense drove me until, in the end, I danced with abandon. If Satan had me in his hand that night, then I confess it: I welcomed his touch.”
Good golly, I love Geraldine Brooks. Everything she writes just sucks me in. I swear my kids know if I’m reading one of her books they have to give me a good shake to get my attention because I’m just lost inside her stories.
Great choice for your teaser.
People that know me are astounded that I haven’t read one of her books yet! I don’t know why – but you know how sometimes the moment passes and then you have moved on to other books? I still want to pick up one of her books some day though!
Beautiful, beautiful! Great teaser. Thanks for sharing!
The writing seems pretty darn great. I need to try this one someday. Hope you love it. thanks 4 joining in:)
